Ok, you got your job interview appointment set up, got your nice clothes pressed and clean, cuffed just correctly, passes are made up and your transportation is all set up. Big day is coming and you feel a bit nervous. Thoughts that are running in your mind like crazy. An example would be; do they hire ex-felons? will it come up? am I qualified? There are a lot more that will go across you mind on the way there, and depending on your situation you can overcome this obstacle or not. I tell you right now, don’t worry about that stuff. Go in there with a positive mindset, and you have won half the battle of tricking your head into doing this…come on you just conquered doing time, don’t you think you can get pass an interview.
OK , you get to your destination a little early and you check in with who ever you need to and you find there are like 20
people in there for the same job. The walls close in on you even more and you second guess yourself if you can top these potential employees also. DO NOT FEAR! You are more hungry they them and depending on your interview skills you can go in there with confidence and even though you do not nail it you have gained invaluable experience on others. When going through this process do not undermine yourself by going in there negative or defeated. The interviewer does this for a living and can see it on your face, body language, hand gestures and everything else. Remember you just did a lot of time, and you have conquered yourself, the biggest problem there is. You have just lived with the worst type of people according to society on a daily basis and you came out and lived through it. Actually you have the upper hand, because you know how to control your body language and know how to speak with a correct tone, because where you just came from. The wrong tone, body language or wrong eye contact can get you in a wreck where bodily harm can be involved. This is no different, just use those skills you honed to nail this interview. Remember this is all a mindset and attitude.
