Ok you just had your first problems, be ready for more. Just move on and get it done!

Ok you just had your first problems, be ready for more. Just move on and get it done!

Now you have to change your thinking and all your plans again. So instead of ¬†just going job searching or hitting the pavement, you have to get access to a computer so that you are able to apply online. Here is another problem, you haven’t been on a computer in how long? Yes that is what I thought, so you try and borrow one from someone to get comfortable with. Another thing is you have to set up and email address because that is where your notifications are going to be sent. All done on the computer. So now you have to manage your time and learn the basics of the computer and everything that is out there. What the hell is GMAIL, HOTMAIL, or even Linkedin. All this stuff wasn’t out there when I was on a computer before. So now you have to relearn all this stuff and set up accounts for yourself. Relearning everything is frustrating especially when your pride gets in the way of everything. If you are used to being on top of things, being the boss, or just having things in control. This is just another issue you have to deal with personally. Now you have to take a step backwards and INSTEAD of just going out job searching you need access to a computer so you can set up and email account, and start applying online. The job developer at your house should be able to direct you to a place where you can go to get those things done. Some examples of those types of places would be JOBCONNECT, WORKFORCE and what ever that is in your area. They will also have job placement programs for you to look at. Talk to your case worker for the details. Now that is just another wasted day, but it has to get done. Everything is ran by computers even getting rejection letters, it will come in your email. The follow up letters also, and potential employment offers.¬†Another thing, these potential employers do not follow up very fast, it may take a couple days, weeks, or even a month while you wait for a reply. So just keep your head in the game and don’t expect it to happen overnight.
